Number one: Learn your DAW’s keyboard shortcuts. It’s so much quicker than poking around in complex menus.
Two: Save your most used plugin settings and FX chains. This makes recalling common effects super quick, without having to set them up from scratch every time.
Three: Organize your samples. This is initially time-consuming, but will definitely pay off down the line when you need to locate that specific snare.
Four: Use MIDI generating plugins to suggest melodies and chord sequences. Then tweak them to your specific style and taste.
Five: Copy and paste new ideas. Whilst you’re experimenting with instrument parameters, copy and paste tracks to keep your various ideas alive. You’ll always be able to go back to earlier versions of your audio without any trouble.
