Eclipse by Filipe Leitao

Crafted by acclaimed composer Filipe Leitão, Eclipse is a dark cinematic Kontakt instrument designed specifically for scoring suspense, thriller, drama, sci-fi, and modern hybrid productions. Built around a foundation of evolving drones, complex dark textures, and dissonant atmospheric layers, this virtual instrument gives media composers and music producers an effortless way to inject raw tension and emotional depth into their cues. At the center of its intuitive interface is a dedicated Tension knob that layers real-time dissonance directly over your soundscapes, accompanied by tempo-synced motion elements and onboard FX.

Dynamic Real-Time Sound Shaping and Motion Controls

The engine inside Eclipse focuses on playable expressive control, allowing you to manipulate dramatic tension on the fly without halting your creative flow. Automatable parameters such as the dedicated Tension control introduce subtle or aggressive dissonant layers instantly, while eight additional Macro controls let you sculpt high-pass and low-pass filters, LFO modulation, and custom Attack and Release envelopes. Coupled with tempo-synced motion elements, the library easily transitions from long, static atmospheric beds to pulsing, rhythmic textures that automatically align with the tempo of your project.

Built-In Grit, Reverb, and Bonus Sound Design Tools

To ensure your soundscapes fit straight into a final mix without requiring long chains of third-party processors, Eclipse comes equipped with tailored onboard effect modules. The integrated Grit control introduces harmonic distortion and edge, while the dedicated Reverb engine expands dry textures into vast, cavernous sonic spaces. Additionally, the instrument includes the HIT + REV bonus collection, bringing high-impact cinematic hits and eerie reversed risers into your arrangement across 19 carefully curated factory presets.

Compact Footprint and DAW Integration

Delivering heavy cinematic impact without bogging down your system drives, Eclipse packs its full sound engine into a lean 2.3 GB download. The library consists of two main NKI patch files that load smoothly within Native Instruments Kontakt, making it compatible with any major Mac or Windows digital audio workstation that hosts the Kontakt sampler plugin. Please note that Eclipse requires the full retail version of Kontakt version 7.10.7 or higher and will not run inside the free Kontakt Player.
