South America Series by Tribe Instruments

For music producers and composers looking to broaden their sonic palette, the South America Series VST Instruments from Tribe Instruments offers a comprehensive collection of virtual instruments, carefully recorded and programmed to bring the authentic sounds of South America into your digital audio workstation (DAW). This extensive bundle is designed to enhance your musical creations with rich, culturally significant sounds.

This collection includes 33 virtual instruments from across the South American continent, totaling 421 presets and requiring 5.5 GB of space. It runs on the included Tribe Player 2 Engine and requires the Tribe Manager App, also included.

The South America Series comprises several distinct instrument categories:

• Andean Percussion: Features 11 percussion instruments from the Andes region, including Bombo Leguero, Andean Snare, Harpmouths, Shamanic Drums, and various types of Chajchas, Seeds, Nails, and Tambourines. It also includes a Cymbal. This collection offers 75 presets and 92 MIDI rhythms.
• Colombian Percussion: Part of the series, this features eight folkloric percussion instruments from Colombia. Instruments include Bombo del Pacífico, Tambora, Alegre, Llamador, Maracón, Caja Vallenata, Guacharaca, and Guache. It comes with 37 presets and 90 MIDI rhythms.
• South America Winds: A collection of five wind instruments from the Andes. This includes different Panpipes and Flutes like Zampoña Sanka, Zampoña Malta, Quena, Tarka, and Pingullo. There are 91 presets available for these instruments.
• South America Strings: This bundle provides six plucked string instruments from South America: Charango, Ronroco, Cuatro, Bandola Llanera, Bandola Andina (a 16-string variant), and Cirrampla. These instruments are crafted by artisan Avelino Moreno. This collection contains 106 presets.
• Marimba de Chonta: A classic instrument from Colombia's Pacific region, offering a unique sound. It includes 30 presets and different rhythms along with their MIDI files.
• Gaitas de San Jacinto: Features two different Colombian Gaita instruments, an iconic folkloric instrument used by artists like Gaiteros de San Jacinto and Carlos Vives. This part of the collection offers 81 presets.

Authentic Sound and Production Control:

Each instrument within the South America Series has been professionally recorded in various regions of South America, with options for different microphones and positions to capture nuanced sounds.

The bundle provides an advanced mixing console for every instrument, giving you granular control over elements like microphone levels, Overhead & Room Sends, and envelope controls such as Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release, and Velocity Curve Table. You can also apply effects including Compressor, Equalizer, Convolution Reverb, Delay, and Parametric EQ. A Multi-Output selector is available for expanded mixing possibilities.

For those who enjoy shaping sounds, the advanced sampler options allow you to control the Envelope, One Shot Mode, Volume & Pitch of each sample, along with Velocity Table control and Mapping Presets.

Rhythms and Musical Phrases:

The collection is designed to help you integrate these sounds seamlessly into your projects. It includes 182 MIDI Rhythms across the bundle. Specifically, the Andean Percussion and Tambores de San Jacinto (Colombian Percussion) instruments come with different rhythms and their corresponding MIDI files. You can sync the built-in MIDI Player or simply drag and drop MIDI files into your DAW for flexibility. This includes classic musical beats from the Andean region such as Carnavalito, Huayno, Guabina, Chuntunqui, and Pujllay.

The series also features beautiful musical phrases recorded by professional musicians. These include phrases from Colombian Folklore recorded by “Carlitos” Gonzáles from Bolivar, Colombia (for Gaitas) and over 50 musical phrases from Marco Farinango from Ecuador/Colombia (for South America Winds). The wind instruments also include real modulation layers, controllable with your MIDI controller's Mod Wheel. For strings, an advanced Chord Arpeggiator allows for creating different strumming patterns, plucked arpeggios, and musical passages like tremolos.

System Compatibility:

The South America Series is compatible with Mac OS X 10.15 (Catalina) up to Mac OS 15.3 (Sequoia), and Windows 10 and 11 (latest Service Pack, 64-bit). It supports both Intel and Apple Silicon processors. A 64-bit DAW is required for operation, as 32-bit DAWs are not supported.

Recommended system specifications include an M1/M2 processor or a 2.8GHz i7 (six-core) with 16GB RAM. The bundle has been tested and is compatible with major DAWs such as Logic Pro X, Garage Band, Ableton Live, Cubase, Cockos Reaper, LUNA, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Cakewalk Bandlab, Mixcraft, Studio One, and Digital Performer.
