The Chord Tone filter keeps pitch choices tied to current chord structures, while the Pentatonic filter dials in familiar scale degrees for smooth leads. To avoid harsh dissonance, the Avoid Note Filter automatically skips half-step clashes over active chords. Additionally, the No Repeat filter eliminates redundant consecutive pitches, and the Smooth filter restricts sudden octave leaps, ensuring every generated phrase flows naturally into the next.

Looma structures its musical output around an 8-step chord progression shared simultaneously across three distinct performance voices. You can set the global root key, scale, progression steps, and chord lengths while customizing each voice with dedicated high and low pitch limits. By defining separate pitch registers such as placing a bass line down low and a lead phrase up top you can control the density and rhythm of each voice independently using per-voice probability settings and a 4-slot weighted note length table.
