The piano is the godfather of all musical instruments.
The most exciting pieces of music can be translated on a piano while sounding great and recognizable.
However, the piano is one of those instruments that, in the digital realm, can’t rely solely on the musician’s skill. It needs to sound good on its own.
There are countless piano libraries, VSTs, and standalone software, but not all are worth it.
If you’re looking for some cool Kontakt libraries to expand your sonic palette, you should check out these deals on https://audioplugin.deals/shop/.
The cool thing about sticking to Kontakt is that the catalog of libraries available can only expand with time.
Here’s a list of the best piano Kontakt libraries available on AudioPluginDeals.
The Twisted Keys Suite features three vintage pianos, including an upright piano, Mark I electric piano, and Mark II electric piano. Influenced by current Lo-Fi trends, these instruments feature multiple effects designed to help replicate nostalgic moods.
When developing these instruments, we put a lot of attention on the effects panel. Providing you with effects that saturate your sound in noise, reverb, flutter, filter, and delay.
Developed for use with the full version of Kontakt 5.8 or higher, Dione Acoustic Piano is one of the most realistic, organic, and warm-sounding acoustic pianos ever created. Dione was sampled in a beautiful-sounding room with unique detail and realism.
The piano is based on the Steinway D-274 Concert Grand. D-274 is the flagship of the Steinway & Sons piano company, first built-in 1884. It is a favorite instrument for musicians like Sergei Rachmaninoff, Vladimir Horowitz, Alfred Brendel, and many others.
Fully customizable, discover the instrument and make it yours, thanks to the easy-to-use UI and to the big amount of settings. For example, you can create your unique sound by mixing microphone positions and addon sounds.
The Realsamples Piano Gems Bundle features three rare piano sample libraries from the Edition Beurmann collection. These are the German Celesta, Grand Piano, and Orphica Piano. These pianos sound stunning and are a steal at this price point.
The Swiss Grand offers a full-bodied, warm yet transparent tone with a raunchy bass in a league of its own. It is presented in its original tuning at 437 Hz (presets in 440 Hz are also available).
Luthéal Piano is probably one of the rarest piano instruments, with only one instrument left. Invented by the Belgian George Cloetens, it uses a grand piano with a so-called luthéal mechanism to alter the tone with dampers and nails. Built in 1919/1922 and completely restored, it resides at the musical instruments museum in Brussels.
Pianoforte features an old Traugott Berndt piano from 1848, and English Spinet II features sounds from an English spinet built by Benjamin Slade in 1705. Both pianos are from REALSAMPLE’s Edition Beurmann series of museum instruments.
In this sample library, the Riot Audio team took an experimental approach by dampening the piano strings with thick blue poster putty (mostly known for being great for sticking posters to walls in rented accommodation!). The result is a finely tuned balance between resonance and the sharp, rubbery attack unique to this way of preparing the piano.
The piano is a vintage 1950s British household upright – full of character and quirks. If it’s a unique variation on an old favorite and tons of character you’re after, this library is the perfect addition to your piano sample collection.
First is the Black Grand MKII, a deep sampling of the magnificent Steinway D, recorded in a concert hall for the true concert grand experience.
Second is the Renaissance Flutes, a complete set of recorders: Bass, Alto, Tenor, Soprano, and Sopranino, beautifully played by one of Sweden’s top flutists.
And finally, Tubed Keys were sampled from the Rhodes MkI 73.
This top-in-class library comes with 31 velocities/recorded notes which give you a fantastic velocity response! Almost 10 Gb lossless compressed samples (about 15 Gb uncompressed), 7399 different samples, Two mixable microphone perspectives, Sympathetic Resonance, True Pedaling, and much more.
This library is based on an old, LARGE, Malmsjö Grand piano from around 1910 that had the clarity needed to work in modern production, but also, at the same time, had the richness at well-contoured bass side that would provide the power needed on the lower part of the keyboard without getting muddy.
It contains two recorded versions using different microphone combinations. One close and one a bit more ambient. The first resulted in the White Grand and the second in the White Sister.
The team wanted to make the ”Ultimate Studio Grand Piano” that would work in a recording session for more contemporary styles of music. It would simply sit well in a mix! This is exactly what they have achieved with the WG2 MkII Studio Grand Piano!
XPERIMENTA DUE features two premium grand pianos sampled in a beautiful-sounding room with unique detail and realism. The pianos are based on the C7 Gran Coda and Half-Coda C3.
The philosophy behind DUE is to combine the art of recording and the art of scripting to make the best-sampled pianos, made to satisfy the most demanding composers and musicians.
To make this instrument, the team decided to simulate the acoustic behavior of the piano with a combination of fine sampling of the mechanics (i.e., hammer and pedal noises) and a physic-modeling philosophy of scripting. The team sampled the “overtones,” which are the harmonic resonances that the string generates by sympathetic resonance. We mapped them so that they will play only when a related note is pressed (i.e., a fifth, an octave).
PREPARATO Piano, the first instrument of the PREPARATO series, is an inspiring library for Kontakt made from the combination of the incredible characteristics of a Prepared Piano in a hybrid modular software.
PREPARATO is not just a prepared piano library recorded with 15 incredible techniques; thanks to the “Acoustic Modular Instrument” engine based on a multi-layering system, PREPARATO allows you to have great control over the acoustic source, with endless possibilities of combination.
