Love or hate them; emotions are a part of the human experience. On any given day, you might super excited one minute and then at a moment’s notice have your heart sinks at possibilities of bad news and then right back up again. Emotions help us cope with all of this and so much more. Musicians have the opportunity to share their emotions through music. As they do, they help the listener connect to their personal experiences by the projects they create.

Music also provides an emotional, almost subliminal context, especially in the area of visual media. Imagine Star Wars without John Williams’ iconic score it would not be the same?
So having the task to create meaningful experiences, musicians must have at their disposal tools that will allow them to cover the full spectrum of emotions. The latest bundle from Sampletekk brings together four beautiful piano libraries that provide a range of tonal colors to help you in your mission.
The BLUE GRAND relied on Sampletekk’s 100-year-old Malmsjö grand used in some of their most popular libraries. The Blue Grand takes a slightly different treatment in the mixing technique to create a more ambient soundstage. The Malmsjö has a lovely tone that sets it apart from other pianos that is sure to please and inspire.
The VERTIKAL (with a “k”), was based on a Yamaha U1 upright piano. VERTIKAL does not apologize for its upfront and raucous sound. It is very upfront and fun. Having two mic perspectives (Pop and Jazz) allows you to blend the two to get the perfect balance.
The RAIN PIANO flips things in a different direction. Tom Waites is known for a very loose and unpredictable piano sound that has become very popular in recent piano libraries. The RAIN PIANO has a certain muted quality that allows it to express those far away and sometimes melancholy emotions that other pianos would not be able to cover. The RIAN PIANO also was voiced in such a way to emphasize the tonal signature drawing you into some very expressive opportunities.
The last piano in the bundle is the SMALL STUDIO GRAND. This piano surprised me most of all. STUDIO GRAND was based on a smaller 6’1” Yamaha Grand piano. Traditionally the Yamaha C7 is the go-to for most recording projects; this smaller Yamaha packs a punch in its own right. It has a nice tight but bold sound with an especially appalling rich low end that compliments the hint of sparkle as you play the higher octaves.
The mic perspective complements this library very well as it provides a great soundstage that will feel right at home in your mixes.
Need to express an emotion; there’s a piano for that. You are sure to find just what you are looking for in the Emotional Piano Bundle, as Spock would say; Fascinating!
